About Magshimey Herut

Many people who influence the course of history begin their careers of service in youth groups, protest movements and student organizations. Many among today’s Jewish young adults will be assuming positions of responsibility in the future.

Magshimey Herut was founded in 5759 (1999) in order to answer the need for an activist hagshama movement of young adults dedicated to personal implementation of their commitment to social justice, the unity of the Hebrew nation and integrity of the Land of Israel.

Magshimey Herut attracts idealistic volunteers throughout Israel and the Diaspora who are willing to give of themselves and their time, identify with the objectives of the movement and wish to make a difference concerning the future of Israel. Our programs throughout the world aim to prepare young adults, idealistically and tactically, for responsible leadership in the life of our nation.

Magshimey Herut aspires to:

  2. Initiate educational activities designed to imbue Jewish youth with a love for the nation, homeland and tradition of Israel.
  3. Foster Zionist education abroad in order to promote and encourage aliya.
  4. Train young leaders dedicated to social justice and the territorial integrity of Eretz Yisrael.
  5. Inculcate the importance of national solidarity and the responsibility of all Jews for one another.
  6. Further cultural activities which foster Jewish nationalism.
  7. Arouse the next generation to honor the memory of Holocaust victims and continue the struggle against anti-Semitism.
  8. Establish absorption communities throughout Israel in order to improve the aliya experience.
  9. Inculcate the value of Hebrew settlement in all of Eretz Yisrael.
  10. Train cadres of young leaders dedicated to promoting dialogue, understanding and tolerance between Orthodox and non-Orthodox Jews.
  11. Promote an understanding of the necessity for preserving the Jewish character of the State of Israel.
  12. Provide supplemental educational activities in Israel’s disadvantaged communities and development towns.
  13. Further cultural activities to preserve the traditions of communities from around the world.
  14. Educate to the importance of increasing the Hebrew birthrate.

Magshimey Herut initiates, promotes and supports the activities of student, oleh and social action groups which are consistent with the Movement’s objectives. Projects that Magshimey Herut undertakes vary from place to place, depending upon the commitments and interests of individual groups, as well as the specific situations of the communities in each location.

Magshimey Herut works in conjunction with the World Zionist Organization, the Jewish Agency for Israel and the Jewish National Fund on projects that advance our common goals.
